Open to voice writing court reporting, CART or captioning students.

The NVRA is now accepting applications from voice writing students for the annual Horace Webb Scholarship.

Please take some time to read about Horace Webb, the inventor of our voice writing technology.

Applications must be received no later than May 1, 2023.  The scholarship application will be available on the NVRA website at www.NVRA.org.

Application instructions must be followed to be considered for the scholarship.

NVRA will award at least two student scholarships in 2024.  A scholarship will be awarded to a court reporting student in a voice writing program/school and to a CART/Captioning student enrolled in a voice writing program/school.

The scholarship recipients will be entitled to:
 

• A $500 payment to a voice writing program/school.  The payment is made directly to the program/school
• A free NVRA study guide
• A free one-year student NVRA membership
• A voucher entitling the recipient to one CVR readiness workshop or one RBC-M or RCP-M readiness workshop (recorded video)
• A free written examination
• One free practice CD of their choice
• Free speech silencer from Talk Tech (standard or smartMic) OR one free open mic setup
